The New Archer Meet-n-Greet Orientation Clinic is intended for (1) 6th-8th grade students enrolled at Lamar Middle School for the 2023-24 school year, (2) archers new to the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), and (3) students interested in learning more about being on the Lamar Archery Team. Parents & Fan Clubs are encouraged to attend and observe.
Space is limited. Because there is a maximum number of archers we can safely coach and instructionally accommodate, we will cap team numbers. It is super important that you and your potential Lamar archer look over the Lamar Archery FAQ and discuss team expectations, practice commitment, fees, etc. (link below).
New archers interested in joining the Lamar Archery team *MUST* attend one of the scheduled New Archer Meet-n-Greet Orientation Clinics (there is no cost for the Orientation Clinic). The 90-minute session will teach archers range safety, introduce shooting protocol, allow time for an archer/parent Q & A, and provide information to help archers/families determine if they’d like to pursue a commitment to be a Lamar Archer.

Day of Clinic - Archers MUST:
Wear closed toe athletic/tennis shoes (no sandals, Crocs, flip-flops, etc.).
Pull hair back out of the face and eyes (boys and girls).
Leave jewelry at home.
Shoot without hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, or coats.
Bring a water bottle.

**NOTE: Archers with have at least 1-year of National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) instruction at a NASP registered school and have participated in at least one NASP tournament within the last year, do NOT need to sign-up for this orientation clinic (this includes incoming 6th grade NASP archers from Brentwood & Highland Park).**
